Robben Island

Robben Island is the island which housed the prison where Nelson Mandela was held for many years during the Apartheid regime. The guided tour is good - yet allows for very little freedom to wander around the island and check out the place on your own. My own inofficial highlight was the penguin beach - which actually sported a higher concentration of penguins than the penguin reserve close to the Cape of Good Hope...
